Tour Itinerary for Kilimanjaro 7 Days Lemosho Route Trekking:

Day 1: Departure from Hotel/Office, Start of Hike from Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp 

Embark on your Kilimanjaro expedition with an early departure from your hotel or office in Moshi or Arusha. After a satisfying breakfast and a final check of your gear, you'll set out for the Lemosho Gate, the gateway to the majestic mountain. As you pass through the gate, excitement builds as you take your first steps on the trail. The lush rainforest envelopes you in a canopy of green, with sunlight filtering through the dense foliage. Keep your eyes peeled for the playful antics of monkeys and the vibrant plumage of tropical birds. After several hours of hiking, you'll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,780 meters), nestled amongst towering trees. Here, you'll set up camp for the night, surrounded by the serene beauty of the forest, with the sounds of nature lulling you to sleep.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Bid farewell to the verdant rainforest as you ascend into the moorland zone. The trail opens up to reveal sweeping vistas of the Shira Plateau, with its undulating terrain stretching out before you. Marvel at the rugged grandeur of Kilimanjaro's slopes as you make your way towards Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters). Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Barranco Camp

As you ascend towards Barranco Camp (3,960 meters), you'll pass by the striking Lava Tower, a volcanic formation that punctuates the skyline. The trail offers panoramic views of Kilimanjaro's glaciers and rugged peaks, providing a glimpse of the challenges that lie ahead. Arriving at Barranco Camp, nestled in a scenic valley beneath towering cliffs, you'll be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment and a well-deserved rest after a day of trekking.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Today's journey presents a thrilling challenge as you tackle the Barranco Wall, a steep and rocky ascent that requires some hands-on scrambling. As you ascend, the landscape transforms once again, giving way to the picturesque Karanga Valley. Here, amidst the rugged beauty of Kilimanjaro's slopes, you'll find respite at Karanga Camp (3,995 meters). Take time to soak in the awe-inspiring surroundings and reflect on the journey thus far as you prepare for the final push to the summit.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

As you continue your ascent towards the summit, the landscape becomes increasingly barren and otherworldly. Trekking onwards, you'll ascend to Barafu Camp (4,600 meters), the final base camp before the summit push. The air grows thinner, and each step becomes a test of endurance and determination. Arriving at Barafu Camp, perched on a rocky ridge amidst the high-altitude desert, you'll be greeted by stunning views of the surrounding peaks bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Take time to rest and mentally prepare for the challenges that lie ahead as you anticipate the summit attempt.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Mweka Camp

Today is the day you've been waiting for – the summit attempt. In the early hours of the morning, under the cover of darkness, you'll begin the final push towards Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa. The trail is steep and challenging, requiring every ounce of strength and determination you possess. As the first light of dawn breaks over the horizon, you'll reach the summit, where breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment await. After savoring the moment and capturing memories to last a lifetime, you'll begin the descent back to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters), where you'll spend the night beneath the star-studded African sky.

Day 7: Descend to Mweka Gate, Transfer to Arusha/Moshi

The final leg of your journey takes you through lush rainforest as you descend to Mweka Gate, where your Kilimanjaro adventure comes to an end. The air is thick with the scent of earth and vegetation as you make your way down the trail, reflecting on the experiences and memories you've made along the way. Arriving at Mweka Gate, you'll complete park formalities, receive your summit certificates, and bid farewell to the mountain that has been your home for the past week. From here, you'll be transferred back to Arusha/Moshi, where you can celebrate your accomplishment and reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken.
